Replacing old hand-held shower head with a new one.? I have been wanting to replace my old hand-held shower head for some time now and today, I tried to install my new one but the old one just won't budge. I tried using the wrench but it won't work either. Can someone please tell me a way that I can remove it? Thank you. CAREFUL WITH THIS ADVICE------ Heat generally loosens stuck metal stuff. If it is safe to do so (i.e. you won't damage anything in the area with the heat), you can use a propane torch to heat the fitting. This will expand everything a little. Tap lightly with a rubber mallet or hammer to help loosen. It should loosen up in just a couple minutes. If you have hard water, sometimes lime and calcium will build up inside those fittings and freeze them together. It's very common with older plumbing. Use common sense and don't start anything on fire when you do this, okay? I linked a propane torch below so you know what I'm talking about for sure.
