Decorate With a Custom Waterfall in Your Home or Office
The New Year brings time for change. Whether it be change in your personal life, the lifestyle you lead, or change in your home or office decorating you want to do something to make you feel happier and better. It may sound silly, but incorporating water fountains and waterfalls into your life at home or work can be absolutely refreshing, relaxing and truly beautiful! Water fountains come in so many different styles that you have hundreds of options when researching. Today we will talk about custom waterfalls and how to decide what options to choose and show you some great examples. Custom waterfalls can be incorporated into an existing home or office and are also often built into the plans by architects and designers of new homes and offices.
A custom fountain or waterfall can range from a small 2 foot wall or floor standing style or a very large 10 or 20 foot waterfall. Custom fountains truly means “custom”, you can do essentially, anything you want when designing and building your waterfall. Here are some common applications and options.
Typically, custom waterfalls are either floor standing or wall mounted with materials such as copper or stainless steel and a glass or slate face for the water to cascade down. With a model that sits on a floor or in a niche you can typically choose from a center mount or a rear mount. The main difference is that a center mounted waterfall will be viewable from both sides so it works great in the middle of a room or as a dividing wall. A rear mounted fountain will only be viewed from one side so you will want to place it up against a wall or enclose it in a custom made niche. Both styles are very popular and depending on the fountain application, you will find the style that fits your space. If you are designing a waterfall fountain for your office any model with a smooth face can have a logo to personalize it as well. This is very commonly done so that customers have another way to remember your place of business and it will gain a ton of attention!
Some typical applications for custom fountains and waterfalls are medical facilities, spas, salons, banks and general business lobbies and homes. Often times they can be built right into the design of a wall or layout of an office. We have seen many contractors build a niche for the waterfall and somewhat enclose it so it looks like a natural part of the wall. Custom water fountains also look amazing as a room divider. Recently, we worked on a project that had the fountain in an Optometrist office. It was placed on a shelf as a room divider for the exam area and the waiting room for everyone to enjoy. Another large project was a beautiful curved waterwall that went from floor to ceiling to divide a dentist waiting area and an orthodontist waiting area. All are very beautiful large fountain applications.
